When I think back on the experiences that shaped me into the person that I am today, I think of my Grandma and the many fond memories we made at her house over the years. I remember coming into her living room after playing outside in the snow with my sister and my cousins and feeling the warmth of the roaring fire in the fireplace. She would offer us warm cookies and a hot drink and we would sit together, play games, and chat. We would tell stories and she would share memories from her past. She would bring out old photos that would bring her memories to life.
Grandma has a way of making everyone in her presence feel loved and welcome. We would share meals around the table as a family and she would consider every detail: from the lighting and decorations, to the food being served, to the music playing in background. I left those times with her feeling loved and encouraged.
It is my goal to create the type of experience for my clients that my Grandma continues to provide for me. I want to pay attention to every detail to make sure that each couple receives timeless images that they will treasure for a lifetime (and eventually share with their children and grandchildren). I want them to feel completely comfortable in front of the camera by helping them through each step of the process, from choosing outfits and locations for their engagement session to guiding them through poses on their wedding day.
In addition to hospitality, I also value creativity and find inspiration in playing and writing music, spending time outdoors, and sharing quality time with close friends. I love spending my time off work at open mic nights, hiking and camping with my friends and my pup, or hanging out at my favorite coffee shop. Finally, my background and training in clinical research allows me to lead detail-oriented and organized photography sessions with ease and provide each client with an unparalleled wedding photography experience.
I love meeting with each couple over a cup of coffee and hearing their story. Once we get to know each other, we begin to plan the details of their wedding day!
In my free time, you can often find me under a cozy blanket reading a good book!
My parents gave me my first guitar when I turned 13 years old. I love to sing and write my own music and occasionally I perform at local coffee shops and open mic nights!
Ceasar is my sweet, 9-year-old Australian Shepherd. He follows me everywhere and loves to go hiking and camping. He is most content cuddling on the couch at home with me and his favorite toy fox.
ALL the photos are wonderful! Christy certainly captured the "spirit" of both nights - They are just beautiful! She is very talented and we were so lucky to have had her photograph the festivities. Thank you!!!
